To support PM Modi’s “Make in India” initiative, Manohar Parrikar Union Defence Minister at the first day of Aero India 2015 in his opening remarks informed about government’s plans to simplify defence exports and make the process more transparent.

Currently the procedural formalities make defence goods export process a bit complicated. The new process once in place will simplify procedural formalities and introduce more transparency in the system.

The “Make in India” programme is gaining traction with increase in manufacturing activity in the defence sector within the last two years. The number of business deals reflects the growth that is anticipated in the domestic manufacturing in defence sector. The participation of major players of defence aviation in Aero India 2015 is a big motivation for Indian defence manufacturing Industry.
